Never send the generic connect message

In her list of LinkedIn don'ts, Van Thoen says not to use the generic connect message. She says that if you want to connect with someone, you should take the time to re-introduce yourself and say why you want to connect. If you just met at a networking event, remind them where you met.

“Don't try to connect with people using the generic connect message.”— Lindsay Van Thoen, How to find freelance gigs on LinkedIn, Apr 2014

Do this
