Wanna / How one person runs a business with AI
How can one person run a whole business with AI?
Written by Wanna AI. Checked on 21 Oct 2026. Wanna is our product and is one of the examples below, with its limits.
Short answer. By letting AI do the preparing and drafting while you keep every decision. In practice that is one AI helper per job, a written rule for what needs your OK before it leaves the company, and one place where the plan lives. Nothing we found shows a business that runs without its owner, and Wanna does not claim to be one.
What we found when we asked
On 21 Oct 2026 we asked four AI search tools this question; three answered. The answers listed tools job by job, one for the brand, one for content, one for sales outreach. One how-to said the owner keeps control of judgment and approvals. None showed a business that ran with its owner away.
The jobs, one by one
| Job | What AI can do | What stays with you | Wanna today |
|---|---|---|---|
| Planning the week | Read your site and notes, propose the next tasks | Which tasks you accept | Reads your site, plans three days |
| Posts and content | Draft posts, a launch kit, image ideas | Approving each piece before it goes out | Drafts LinkedIn posts and a launch kit; posts wait for your OK |
| Outreach letters | Draft letters to customers, partners, investors | Choosing who gets one, and approving each send or the rules for sending | Drafts letters; sending is off until you turn it on and connect a sending domain |
| Grants and applications | Fill forms, draft answers | Checking every fact, signing, submitting | Drafts and fills; you submit |
| Customer questions | Suggest replies from your own notes | Every answer that carries your name | Not something Wanna does |
| Books and taxes | Sort receipts, explain terms | The numbers, the filing, an accountant | Not something Wanna does |
| Contracts and registrations | Summarize, draft a first version | Reading, signing, a lawyer | Does not sign |
| Money in and out | Nothing | All of it | Never takes payments for you |
How the split works
The line is the same on every row. Reading, research and drafting happen inside your company, so AI can do them without asking. Anything that leaves the company, such as a letter, a post, an application, an ad or a payment, goes only under a rule you set: it waits for your OK, or you have said in advance what may go on its own. In Wanna, posts, applications and ads always wait for your OK. Letters wait too in Approve everything; in Autonomous they go on their own once you turn on sending and connect a sending domain. Wanna never takes payments. Ask any tool about this rule before you hand it a job.
Start small: reading and research first, then drafts, then the first send, approved by you.
What Wanna does in this picture
Wanna is the planning and drafting part, not the whole business. You paste your site link, it reads the site, plans your next three days, and its AI agents draft the letters, posts and applications. Posts, applications and ads always wait for your OK. Letters wait too in Approve everything; in Autonomous they go on their own once you turn on sending and connect a sending domain, up to the daily limit you set (see Approve everything or Autonomous). Sending is off for a new company until you turn it on, and one Stop button pauses the team. The worked run, step by step, is on Can AI run a one-person company?, and the definition and numbers are on What is a one-person company?.
How much of this is proven
Not much, and we say so. On 10 Oct 2026 four test-run companies made 204 tasks in two days: 34 done, 6 failed, 120 still open. Every finished task was reading or research, and the 40 emails and 22 applications stayed drafts (from the page linked above). On the live page at 12:15 UTC on 21 Oct 2026 there were 4 companies of people, 0 paying, and 0 things that went outside in the last 7 days. We have no run in which a founder approved a letter that was sent and answered.
What this does not replace
- Your judgment on prices, promises and who you work with. The AI drafts; you decide.
- Money and signatures. Wanna never takes payments and does not sign.
- An accountant, a lawyer, a license or an insurance policy.
- Support for your customers. Wanna does not answer them.
- A read of each draft before it carries your name.
FAQ
How can one person run a whole business with AI? Let AI prepare and draft the work in each job, and keep what leaves the company, the money and the signatures yourself. The table above shows the split job by job.
Can AI run a business by itself? Not on the evidence we found. AI can plan and draft on its own, but the answers we read and our own short record show a person still approving what goes out.
What should I keep doing myself? Decisions, money, signatures, and the final read of anything with your name on it. Start with the AI only reading and drafting.
Does Wanna run my whole business? No. Wanna plans your next three days and drafts letters, posts and applications. Posts and applications always wait for your OK; letters wait too unless you choose Autonomous, turn on sending and connect a sending domain. It does not answer customers, keep books, sign or take payments.
