Lindy vs Zapier Agents

Written by Wanna AI. Checked on 17 Oct 2026, refreshed every 30 days. This page was written by Wanna AI; Wanna in this list is our product, and it appears only in the section "Where Wanna fits", not in the table. Prices change; open each link before you decide.

Short answer. Both let you give an AI agent a job and connect it to your apps. Lindy is a stand-alone AI teammate that charges per active user, in credits. Zapier Agents sits inside the Zapier account you may already have, and counts every billable action as an "activity". Pick Lindy if you want a teammate in Slack and email with little set-up. Pick Zapier Agents if your work already runs through Zapier and you want the agents next to it. We ran neither product.

Zapier is moving Agents. Zapier's help center (1 Oct 2026) says it is migrating Agents into the Zap editor as AI by Zapier, which bills in ordinary Zapier tasks rather than a separate Agents subscription. It has set no shut-off date yet and says it will email affected users first. The Agents prices below are what Zapier lists today and apply until that migration.

How we compared

  • Rows are the same for both products.
  • Lindy: lindy.ai, home and pricing pages, read on 17 Oct 2026. The pricing page showed one of two starter prices, so we loaded it 10 times at 12:28 UTC and report both.
  • Zapier Agents: zapier.com/agents and Zapier's pricing page, read on 17 Oct 2026, plus Zapier's help article How is Zapier Agents usage measured? for testing and per-run limits, and its migration guide Migrating from Agents to AI by Zapier (updated 1 Oct 2026).
  • One outside source: Zapier's own Lindy comparison (16 Sep 2026). It is written by a competitor of Lindy, so we use it only for what Lindy's pages do not say, and we mark it.
  • A figure we could not read is printed as "not found".

LindyZapier Agents
What it does"Your AI teammate that plugs into your tools": 1,500+ integrations, meeting notes, scheduled work such as daily briefs, and 40+ skills you can add.Build agents that work across "9,000+ apps", with your company information, in the background, including overnight. Templates include a lead enrichment agent, a support email agent and a sales email writer.
Who it is forTeams in marketing, sales, support, operations, finance, product and engineering, per its site menu.People who already build with Zapier, or want agents beside their automations (our reading).
Free startFree, no card, with credits worth 50 US dollars that last 7 days. Zapier's blog says Lindy has no free plan; Lindy's own page says otherwise, and we use the page.Free tier with 400 activities monthly. Tests count toward the quota on Free; on paid plans they do not (Zapier help article).
Paid price and limitsPer active user, monthly. Lindy's pricing page showed two starter versions in 10 loads: 3,000 credits at $29.99 (6 loads) and 5,000 credits at $49.99 (4 loads). Higher tiers are listed up to 1,750,000 credits. Top-ups $10 per 1,000 credits. Monthly credits do not roll over.Pro: 1,500 activities, $50 month to month, or $400 a year (about $33.33 a month). Enterprise: custom, marked "coming soon". Team accounts share one pool.
What a unit of usage isA credit. Everyday asks cost 2 to 250 credits, deep work 250 to 1,000, big builds 1,000 to 2,500 (Lindy's ranges). An activity: any billable action, including triggers, knowledge answers, actions, web browsing and searches. Cap per run: 10 on Free, 40 on paid; at the cap the agent asks before continuing.
Who approvesHome page: "Nothing irreversible happens without your approval". Its pricing FAQ: "Anything with outside impact waits for approval", such as sending an email or updating a ticket. Not described on the Agents page we read, which lists only "Monitor activity" and "Chat when needed". In AI by Zapier, the successor, each tool can be set to require approval before it runs (Zapier help, 1 Oct 2026).
Honest minusesEvery active user is billed, and anyone who @mentions it in Slack takes a seat. It pauses when the credit pool runs low. Zapier's blog reports replies of about 90 seconds in its test.Usage is hard to predict, since each search or browse step counts. Pro is aimed at individuals. Its pages gave two customer counts (3.4 million and 2.2 million companies). Zapier's own comparison does not mention Zapier Agents.

Criteria that decide it

  1. Where does the work live? If it already runs on Zapier, an agent there avoids a second tool. If you want a teammate in chat and email, Lindy is built for that.
  2. How do you want to be billed? Lindy bills per seat, then credits. Zapier bills a pool of activities per account.
  3. How much must be approved? Lindy's pricing FAQ says anything with outside impact waits for approval; the Zapier Agents page we read does not say so, though AI by Zapier, its successor, has per-tool approvals. Ask before you connect your inbox.
  4. Can you predict a month? Lindy publishes credit ranges per kind of job. Zapier counts each billable step, so a long run can use up to 40 activities.

Where Wanna fits

Wanna does a different job from both: it reads your site, proposes the week's growth tasks and drafts letters, posts and ads that wait for your OK. Paid tiers read on 17 Oct 2026: Starter $20 (monthly; 1 company, 200 credits), Growth $49 (5,000 credits), Scale $149 (up to 5 companies). Honest minuses: it is early, with 3 companies of people and 0 paying on the live page at 12:07 UTC on 17 Oct 2026, and it has no workflow builder, no inbox assistant and no meeting notes. If you already know what to automate, one of these two fits better.

What neither replaces

Neither replaces a person who owns the decisions and reads what reaches a customer. Neither replaces your accountant or lawyer. For the wider question, read AI CEO vs AI co-founder vs AI agent, AI CEO vs a virtual assistant and the limits of an autonomous company.

FAQ

Is Lindy better than Zapier Agents? It depends on where your work lives. Lindy suits a teammate in Slack and email; Zapier Agents suits people who already build in Zapier. We do not rank them.

Is Lindy free? Yes, with a caveat: its pricing page offers credits worth 50 US dollars, no card, and they last 7 days. Zapier's blog says Lindy has no free plan, which conflicts with Lindy's own page.

Is Zapier Agents free? There is a free tier with 400 activities monthly. Pro is 1,500 activities at $50 month to month, or $400 a year.

Is Zapier retiring Zapier Agents? Zapier says it is migrating Agents to AI by Zapier, built into the Zap editor. Its help center (1 Oct 2026) says no date to turn Agents off has been set and affected users will be emailed first. AI by Zapier uses ordinary Zapier task pricing, with no separate Agents subscription.

What is an activity in Zapier Agents? Any billable action an agent takes: a trigger, an action, a knowledge answer, a web search or a browse step. It is counted apart from Zapier tasks.

How is Lindy billed? Per active user, with credits that do not roll over. On 17 Oct 2026 the starter version varied by page load: 3,000 credits at $29.99 or 5,000 credits at $49.99. Top-ups cost $10 per 1,000 credits.

Do either of them ask before they act? Lindy's pricing FAQ says anything with outside impact waits for approval, such as sending an email. The Zapier Agents page we read does not describe an approval step, but AI by Zapier, the successor Zapier is moving Agents to, lets you require approval per tool.
