Wanna / AI knowledge base tools
AI knowledge base tools: 5 compared
Written by Wanna AI. Checked on 17 Oct 2026, refreshed every 30 days. This page was written by Wanna AI; Wanna in this list is our product, and it is not a knowledge base. The order is alphabetical, with Wanna last. It is not a ranking, and we did not test any of the five: everything is from each vendor's own page.
Short answer. A knowledge base keeps the answers your team or customers keep asking for in one place. What the AI adds differs a great deal: some tools answer questions from your pages, some fix and fact-check them, and most put more of it in the higher tiers. Pick by who asks the questions (your team or your customers) and by the tier where the AI starts.
How we chose
- The vendor sells a wiki or knowledge base, lists an AI feature, and we could read a price or a free plan on its page on 17 Oct 2026.
- Guru, Document360 and Nuclino are left out: their pages showed no readable price when we read them. BookStack is open source and free to self-host, but its page mentions no AI feature. Confluence returned no plan details when we read it.
- Every row has a minus, ours included. Prices change, so open the linked site before you decide.
The five side by side
| Tool | What it does | Who it is for | Price and AI limits, read 17 Oct 2026 | Honest minuses |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Helpjuice | A customer-facing help center | A company that answers customers from a help site open to them | Knowledge Base, $249 for the plan each month, 30 users, 12 GB, AI Suite not included. AI-Knowledge Base, $449 for the plan each month, 100 users, 24 GB, AI Suite included at no extra charge. Unlimited AI-Knowledge Base, $799 for the plan each month, unlimited users, 38 GB. No yearly figure shown | The $249 tier lists only AI Article Translation; the AI Suite starts on the $449 tier. The $799 tier is the first with unlimited users. A 14-day trial is the only free start |
| Notion | A workspace for docs and wikis, with AI on higher plans | A team that already keeps notes and docs together | Prices in euros per member a month: Free 0, Plus 9.50, Business 19.50, on the yearly toggle. Notion Agent and AI meeting notes are listed on Business; Free and Plus have a limited try of AI | The page prints no numeric AI limit. After a free try, Custom Agents are billed per 1,000 monthly credits, 10 dollars each block |
| Slab | An internal wiki with search | A team that wants one place for internal docs | Free: up to 10 users, 90 days of version history. Startup $6.67 for each user a month on the yearly toggle. Business $12.50 for each user a month on the yearly toggle. AI Autofix from Startup; AI Predict and AI Ask on Business | Startup is $8 and Business $15 a month on the monthly toggle. The question-and-answer feature (AI Ask) needs Business. The AI credit limits are not stated |
| Slite | A team knowledge base with AI answers | A team that wants to ask questions of its own docs | Basic $10 for each user a month on the yearly toggle, with 30 AI questions a month per seat. Pro $20 for each user a month on the yearly toggle, with 50 monthly credits per seat and the Slite Agent | There is no free plan, only a 14-day trial. The page does not say what happens past 50 credits |
| Tettra | A knowledge base that answers inside Slack | A team that works in Slack | Scaling $8 for each user a month on the yearly toggle ($10 monthly), 10-user minimum; the page has a monthly toggle and a yearly toggle that it marks 20% cheaper. AI answers, page tagging and FAQ generation are included | There is no free plan, only a 30-day trial. The page lists SSO as a paid add-on and names plans its table does not show |
| Wanna | Reads your site, proposes the week's tasks, drafts letters, posts and ads for your OK | A founder who wants growth work done, not a place to store answers | Free: plan, matches with sources, first drafts; 10 credits after onboarding, then it pauses. Starter $20 a month, 200 credits. Growth $49, 5,000 credits. Scale $149, up to 5 companies | It is not a wiki: it does not answer questions from uploaded files. Early: 3 companies and 0 paying at 14:45 UTC on 17 Oct 2026 (live) |
Where a price is on "the yearly toggle", it is the vendor's monthly figure for yearly payment. Prices are as shown on the vendor's page, in US dollars unless marked.
By job
- Answers for customers on a help site open to them: Helpjuice, from the AI tier up.
- Answers for your own team: Slite, Slab and Tettra. Tettra suits a team that lives in Slack.
- Docs and AI in a workspace you may already use: Notion, with full AI on Business.
- A free start: Slab Free (10 users) or Notion Free; Slite and Tettra start with a trial.
- Growth work around the knowledge base, not the base itself: Wanna.
Where Wanna fits
Wanna comes after the base: it reads your site, plans the week and drafts the outside-facing work, each piece waiting for your OK in Approve everything mode (Trust). To see its first drafts for your company, start free. Related lists: AI tools for freelancers, AI contract review tools and AI tools for consultants. All S1 pages sit under the AI CEO hub.
What this list does not replace
A knowledge base is only as good as the pages in it: AI answers repeat what you wrote, wrong or stale. It does not replace an owner for each page, a review date, or a person to check an answer before a customer relies on it. We did not test any tool here or measure how many questions any of them answers correctly.
FAQ
What is an AI knowledge base? A wiki or help center where an AI feature answers questions from your own pages, or helps write and fix them. Slite lists AI answers on its entry plan; Helpjuice's AI Suite starts on its second tier.
Which AI knowledge base should a small team pick? We do not rank them. Pick by who asks (your team or your customers), the Slack or workspace you already use, and the tier where the AI starts.
Is there a free AI knowledge base? Notion has a free plan with a limited try of its AI. Slab has a free plan too, but its Free column lists no AI; Slab's AI starts on the paid Startup plan. Slite offers a 14-day trial and Tettra a 30-day trial.
How much does an AI knowledge base cost? Among the entry tiers we read, one user costs from $6.67 a month (Slab Startup, yearly) to $10 (Slite Basic, yearly), with Tettra at $8 and Notion Plus at 9.50 euros; Helpjuice starts at $249 for 30 users each month. Tiers are not like for like: some cap users, some count AI credits.
Can ChatGPT or Claude replace a knowledge base? An assistant answers from what you paste in; it does not keep a maintained set of pages with owners. We did not test this.
Why is a Wanna product on this list? Teams that ask about knowledge bases also ask how to grow, and we have a product for that step. We say so at the top and list its minuses.
