Cash-flow businessDocument training so it never lives in one person's head
O'Connell, writing for hospitality owners, says every team member is there because of four decisions: how they were selected, hired, trained and led. He argues that a struggling team is a systems gap rather than a character flaw. For training he advises building it once: document your standards, create simple visual SOPs and checklists stored in the cloud, and make an onboarding plan with checkpoints that managers actually use.
“If your training lives in someone’s head, it walks out the door when they do.”— James O'Connell, You get the team your business deserves, Oct 2026
