Cash-flow business

Hold your work until the invoice is paid

Solomon recalls a client that fired his agency, and how freezing the work in progress got the agency paid. Since then, in his own consulting practice, he emails an invoice as soon as a client greenlights a project and does not release his work until he has a check. He says that with coaching clients his rules are even stricter.

“With coaching clients, my rules are even stricter: I expect and receive payment upfront.”— Robert Solomon, Getting paid., Jun 2014
