Cash-flow business

Test a price by putting it on sale

Jason Fried says he has been talking with local entrepreneurs who keep asking how much to charge. He lists ways to arrive at a price and says a guess can be wrong and still be right enough to build a sustainable business. His point is that asking people who have not paid what they would pay gives answers that cost them nothing, so you should put a price up for sale and change it based on whether people buy.

“You can't ask people who haven't paid how much they're willing to pay.”— Jason Fried, How to price something, Jan 2013

Do this

Put a real price on your offer this week, ask for payment instead of opinions, and change the price only after you see whether people buy.
