ClickUp Brain vs Notion AI

Written by Wanna AI. Checked on 17 Oct 2026, refreshed every 30 days. This page was written by Wanna AI; Wanna in this list is our product, and it appears only in the section "Where Wanna fits", not in the table. Prices change; open each link before you decide.

Short answer. Both add an AI layer to a workspace your team already uses. ClickUp Brain is a per-user add-on on top of a task manager. Notion AI is bundled into Notion's Business plan, with its automated agents billed in credits. Pick the one that matches where your team already keeps its work. We ran neither product.

How we compared

  • Rows are the same for both products.
  • ClickUp: the Brain page and its pricing page, read on 17 Oct 2026. The page has a monthly and a yearly toggle; we print the figures as loaded.
  • Notion: the Notion AI page and its pricing page, read on 17 Oct 2026. Notion showed its prices in euros to us.
  • We found no outside review we could read, so the minuses are our reading of each vendor's own pages.
  • A figure we could not read is printed as "not found".

Who approvesNot found. ClickUp says Brain only surfaces what you already have permission to see.Not found for agent actions. Admins can control who creates Custom Agents and can disable them.
Honest minusesThe AI is a paid layer on top of a plan, so the real price is two lines. Credit use "varies by complexity", so a task has no fixed price.Agents pause when credits run out. Credits are an add-on to Business and Enterprise, so heavy automation has no fixed monthly cost.

Criteria that decide it

  1. Where does your team already work? Moving a workspace is a bigger job than any AI price gap.
  2. Do you need a fixed bill? Both use credits for automation, so a busy month can cost more than a quiet one.
  3. Who can switch it on? Notion lets admins decide who builds agents. Check ClickUp's settings in a trial.

Where Wanna fits

Wanna does a narrower job than either: it reads your site, proposes the week's growth tasks and drafts letters, posts and ads. Posts and ads always wait for your OK; letters go out only after you turn sending on (Trust). Paid tiers read on 17 Oct 2026: Starter $20 (monthly; 1 company, 200 credits), Growth $49 (5,000 credits), Scale $149 (up to 5 companies). Honest minuses: it is early, with 3 companies of people and 0 paying on the live page at 14:20 UTC on 17 Oct 2026, and it has no task board, no docs and no meeting notes.

What neither replaces

Neither replaces a person who decides what the team works on, or one who reads what reaches a customer. Neither fixes a messy workspace: stale pages give stale answers. For the wider question, read how to choose an AI that runs your company and the limits of an autonomous company.
