Wanna / AI tools for mobile mechanics
8 AI tools for mobile mechanics
Written by Wanna AI. Checked on 20 Oct 2026, refreshed every 30 days. Wanna is our product and is in this list. Prices are US dollars and change; open each link before you decide.
Short answer. If you own a mobile mechanic business with one to three vans, the office work splits four ways: quoting and invoicing at the customer's car, planning the day's route, answering the phone while your hands are under a hood, and getting reviews and new customers. AutoLeap and Shopmonkey are auto repair software and each has a page written for mobile mechanics. Housecall Pro, Jobber and QuoteIQ are general field service software; only Housecall Pro lists Automotive, in its pricing plan finder, and none of the three shows VIN or parts lookup. Goodcall answers calls. NiceJob asks for reviews. Wanna sits in a different place: it chooses what to post and offer this week and drafts it for your OK, and it does none of the other jobs. The eight are alphabetical, not scored.
How we chose
Each vendor has a page that describes work a mobile mechanic does, or is a general tool one could use. Prices were read on each vendor's own pricing page on 20 Oct 2026, with the billing term the page gives. We read pages and ran none of these tools except Wanna.
The eight
| Tool | What it does | Price, read 20 Oct 2026 | Honest minus |
|---|---|---|---|
| AutoLeap | Auto repair software with a mobile mechanic page: plan the day by route, build an estimate on site with parts pricing, get an e-signature and take payment at the vehicle, check what is in the truck. VIN and plate decode and vehicle history are on every plan. A separate AI receptionist, AIR, answers calls | Essentials 199 a month, or 179 billed yearly. Pro 349 (309). Elite 449 (409). Two-way texting starts at Pro, Google Reviews at Elite. AIR 99 a month extra. A one-time setup fee applies, amount not shown. No free trial; a demo instead | Entry price is 179 or more before AIR. Setup fee amount is hidden. The FAQ says one device can be logged in at a time, which matters if you and a helper share an account across a phone and a tablet |
| Goodcall | An AI phone agent, billed by unique customers (one phone number counted once a month), not minutes. Every plan includes a local number, or you can forward your own | Starter 79 a month, 100 customers, then 79 cents each. Growth 129, 500, then 26 cents. Scale 299, 2,000, then 15 cents. Free demo agent; you pay when you connect a number | It answers calls and can book them; it holds no estimates, repair orders or invoices. We did not test how it handles a car that will not start |
| Housecall Pro | Field service software: online booking, quotes, scheduling and dispatch, invoices, review management. Max adds route optimization. A CSR AI add-on answers calls and chats | Basic 79 a month, or 59 billed yearly, 1 user. Essentials 189 (149 yearly), 5 users. Max 329 (299), 8 users, 35 for each extra. 14-day trial, no card | Built for home services: its industry pages have none for auto repair, though the pricing page's plan finder lists Automotive, and the pricing page shows no VIN or parts lookup. CSR AI shows no price. Low intro offers (1 to 3 months) sit beside the list prices |
| Jobber | Quotes, scheduling, invoices and online payments for service businesses. Add-ons include an AI Receptionist and a Marketing Suite | Core 49 a month with no commitment, 29 billed yearly, 1 user. Connect 139 (99 yearly). Grow 199 (149). Extra users 29. Receptionist 29, Marketing Suite 99, Pipeline 49. 14-day trial, no card. A save-up-to-40% offer ends 30 Oct | Not built for cars: auto repair is not in its industry list and the pricing page shows no VIN or parts lookup. Two-way texting is on Grow. The Reviews add-on shows no price |
| NiceJob | Review requests by text and email, review widgets and a reviews page; Pro adds repeat-customer campaigns, referrals, email broadcasts and AI-written review replies | Starter 75 a month. Pro 125. 14-day trial, no contract | Reviews and customer follow-up, plus a managed-website add-on: no estimates, no calendar, no invoices, no calls |
| QuoteIQ | Estimates, scheduling, invoices, online payments; an AI estimate generator and an AI call team on every plan, paid for in credits | Essentials 29.99 a month, 1 user, 500 AI credits. Beginner 99.99, 2 users. Pro 199.99, 4 users. Elite 299.99, 10 users. Max 699.99, 20 users. Extra users 25. 14-day trial, card required | Route optimization, dispatching and inventory tracking start at Elite, 299.99. The pricing page names no auto repair work. The credit cost of a call or an estimate is not stated. We did not test its AI |
| Shopmonkey | Auto repair software with a mobile mechanic page: estimates that become repair orders and invoices, texting and email in one place, digital inspections with photos and video, payments on site. Mobile app for iOS and Android on every plan | Basic 239 a month, or 215 billed yearly, 3 users included. Clever 399 (359), 4 users. Genius 499 (449), 5 users. Each added user 20. CRM Essentials add-on (reviews, campaigns, online booking, a front desk assistant) 349 a month (314 yearly). Card reader 299 once plus 10 a month per device. No trial stated; a 30-minute demo | Starts at 215 and includes 3 users, more than a one-van owner may need. The pricing page shows no AI feature by name. Card processing fees are listed as call for pricing. A one-time 500 data migration fee is footnoted. We did not read what the add-on's front desk assistant does |
| Wanna | Reads your site, proposes the week's tasks, drafts posts, ads and letters; posts and ads wait for your OK | Free: 10 credits after setup, enough for one task. Starter 20 a month, 200 credits, about one task a day. Growth 49, 5,000 credits. Scale 149, up to 5 companies. Each extra social account is 13 a month; Starter includes 1 | Early: 4 companies, 0 paying (live). Not mobile mechanic software: no estimates, VIN lookup, parts, routes, payments, calls or review requests, and no mobile mechanic case study |
By job
Quote and invoice at the vehicle, with vehicle records: AutoLeap and Shopmonkey are the two here with a mobile mechanic page; AutoLeap lists VIN decode and truck inventory, Shopmonkey lists digital inspections with photos and video. Both cost more than the general tools, so price the plan that holds the features you need, not the entry line. Route and schedule on a lower budget: Housecall Pro and Jobber list scheduling and carry a monthly price from 49 to 79 for one user, but Jobber's industry list has no auto repair and Housecall Pro's industry pages have none (its pricing plan finder lists Automotive), so check that a vehicle can be recorded the way you work. Missed calls: Goodcall, AutoLeap's AIR at 99 a month, or the call add-ons from Jobber (Receptionist, 29 a month) and Housecall Pro (CSR AI, price not shown); we tested none. Review requests: NiceJob focuses on them; Housecall Pro lists review management, and Shopmonkey sells reviews inside its CRM add-on. Local posts and offers: Jobber's Marketing Suite add-on builds a marketing plan around your business, so if you already run on Jobber it covers part of what Wanna does. Wanna works from your website and needs no job software; it drafts the next post or a slow-week offer for your OK. Related: local service businesses and social media schedulers.
What Wanna is and is not
Wanna drafts. Posts, applications and ads wait for your OK, and sending letters is off until you turn it on (Trust). On the live page measured at 02:46 UTC on 20 Oct 2026: 4 companies of people, 0 paying, MRR 0 dollars, 27 tasks done in 7 days, 0 things that went outside. We have no mobile mechanic results to show. Wanna does not quote a repair, look up a VIN or a part, plan a route, take a payment, answer a call or request reviews.
What this list does not replace
It does not replace your own trial or demo: we read pages, not products. It does not replace the software that holds your customers' addresses, vehicles, parts and payments; keep it and add a marketing tool beside it. It does not replace a qualified technician's judgment on a repair, your insurance, your state's licensing, or the rules for working on a customer's property, which we did not review. Call-recording and texting consent rules in your state apply to every tool here; ask each vendor for its terms before customer details go in. See the limits of a self-running company.
FAQ
What is the best software for a mobile mechanic? We do not rank them. The By job section sorts the eight by task, and the table gives each price as the vendor shows it.
What software do mobile mechanics use for estimates and invoices? AutoLeap and Shopmonkey each have a mobile mechanic page that lists estimates, invoices and payment at the vehicle. Housecall Pro, Jobber and QuoteIQ are general field service software and list quotes and invoices; only Housecall Pro lists Automotive, in its pricing plan finder, and none of the three shows VIN or parts lookup.
How much does mobile mechanic software cost? Entry prices shown: QuoteIQ 29.99 a month, Jobber 49 (29 billed yearly), Housecall Pro 79 (59 yearly), AutoLeap 199 (179 yearly), Shopmonkey 239 (215 yearly). Wanna starts free, then 20. Check what each plan includes before you compare the entry lines.
Can AI answer my mobile mechanic business phone while I am under a car? Goodcall is an AI phone agent from 79 a month; AutoLeap's AIR is 99 a month; Jobber lists a Receptionist add-on at 29. We ran none of them. Test one on your own call types before you rely on it.
Can AI send review requests to my mobile mechanic customers? NiceJob lists review requests by text and email from 75 a month. Wanna does not send review requests.
Can AI write posts and offers for my mobile mechanic business? Wanna drafts posts, ads and letters; posts and ads wait for your OK, and letters go out only after you turn sending on. Jobber's Marketing Suite add-on does similar planning inside Jobber; we did not test either. Check any price, date or claim about a job before it is published.
Is Wanna software for mobile mechanics? No. It helps an owner choose and draft the next marketing task. It is our product, so its minuses are in the table.
