7 AI tools for locksmiths
Written by Wanna AI. Checked on 20 Oct 2026, refreshed every 30 days. Wanna is our product and is in this list. Prices change; open each link before you decide.
Short answer. A locksmith with one to five vans loses work in two places: the phone that rings while both hands are inside a door, and the follow-up that never gets sent after the job. The seven tools below cover the phone, booking and dispatch, quotes and invoices, reviews, plain writing, glue between apps and finding new customers. They are alphabetical, not scored. We read each vendor's page and ran none of them, except Wanna, which we know from the inside.
How we chose
- The vendor's own page describes work a locksmith does (answering calls, booking and dispatching jobs, quoting, collecting reviews), or a general tool the owner could use for writing and automation.
- We read each pricing page on 20 Oct 2026 and print prices in US dollars as shown there, with the plan limits we could read. A price the vendor does not show is said so. Introductory offers are left out; these are list prices. We re-read the Jobber and Workiz pricing pages on 21 Oct 2026, and Jobber again on 24 Oct 2026.
The seven
| Tool | What it does | Who it is for | Price (US dollars) and plan limits, read 20 Oct 2026 | Honest minuses |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Claude | A general AI assistant for estimates, customer replies, ad copy and checklists | An owner who writes the quotes and replies personally | Free 0. Pro 20 a month (17 with annual billing, 200 up front). Team Standard seat 25 a month (20 annual), for 2 to 150 people | It does not answer calls or hold a job schedule; you paste in the job details each time |
| Goodcall | An AI phone agent that answers your calls | A solo operator who misses calls while on a job | Starter 79 a month: 100 unique customers, then 79 cents each, about 150 calls. Growth 129: 500 customers, then 26 cents each. Scale 299: 2,000 customers, then 15 cents each. A free demo agent first | Billed per different caller, so a month of new lockout calls counts caller by caller; Starter has 1 external tool, so check what it can connect to; we did not hear it take a call |
| Housecall Pro | Field service software: online booking, scheduling and dispatch, estimates and invoices, review management, with an AI answering add-on (CSR AI) | A shop that runs jobs from a phone and a van | Basic 59 a month billed annually (79 monthly), 1 user. Essentials 149 (189), 5 users. Max 299 (329), 8 users, 35 a month per extra user, booked by demo. 14-day free trial, no card | The CSR AI add-on shows no price on the pricing page; Max is sold by demo; a one-van shop pays for features it may not use |
| Jobber | Quotes, scheduling, invoicing and client messages, with AI add-ons including a Receptionist for calls and texts and a Marketing Suite | An owner who wants quotes and follow-ups in one place | One-user plans 29, 99 and 149 a month billed annually (49, 139 and 199 monthly), re-read 21 Oct 2026; larger teams cost more. 14-day free trial of the Grow plan, no card | The Receptionist add-on is 29 a month on top of the plan, read 24 Oct 2026 (Marketing Suite 99); the page shows several billing options and introductory discounts, so compare the total you would pay |
| Workiz | Field service software with a page for locksmiths: scheduling, estimates, invoices, a phone system, reviews and an AI answering add-on | Locksmith shops that want one system for office and van | Not shown: plans (Standard, Pro, Ultimate) say "request pricing". The Pro plan lists Genius leads and Genius scheduling. 7-day free trial, no card | No price to compare without a call; AI answering (Genius Answering) is an add-on sold separately, price not shown; automations are capped by plan (5, 10 or 30) |
| Wanna | Reads the link you paste, plans your week, and drafts letters, posts and applications for your OK | An owner looking for new customers and local partners | Free: the plan, matches and first drafts; 10 credits after setup. Starter 20 a month, 1 company, 200 credits (about 20 tasks). Growth 49, 5,000 credits. Scale 149, up to 5 companies, 16,000 credits. Extra social accounts 13 a month each | Early: 4 companies, 0 paying (live). It does not answer calls, book or dispatch a job, quote or invoice, and has no locksmith case study |
| Zapier | Connects your apps with automations | An owner who already uses a booking tool, a form and a spreadsheet | Free: 100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps. Professional from 19.99 a month. Team from 69 a month, 25 users. 14-day free trial of Professional | Cost follows task volume, and someone has to build and fix each automation |
By job
Calls: Goodcall, or the answering add-ons of Housecall Pro, Jobber and Workiz if you already use that system. Booking, dispatch and invoices: Housecall Pro, Jobber or Workiz. Reviews: Housecall Pro or Workiz, per their pages. Quotes and replies you write yourself: Claude. Gluing apps together: Zapier. Finding new customers and the week's next task: Wanna. The same exercise for local service businesses. Questions to ask any vendor: how to choose.
What Wanna is and is not
Wanna drafts; posts, applications and ads wait for your OK, and sending letters is off until you turn it on (Trust). On the live page at 01:38 UTC on 20 Oct 2026: 4 companies of people, 0 paying, MRR $0, 27 tasks done in 7 days. That is a small base. Wanna is not dispatch software: it does not take a call, hold your schedule, send a quote or invoice a job. You can start free on Wanna.
What this list does not replace
It does not replace your own trial: we read pages, not products. No tool here replaces the locksmith checking who is asking, and that the person has the right to open the door, before the work starts. It does not replace your state's licensing rules for locksmiths where they apply, your insurance, or your own check of a vendor's call-recording and texting terms in your state. A person still calls back an unhappy customer. See the limits of a self-running company.
FAQ
What are the best AI tools for locksmiths? We do not rank them. The By job section sorts the seven by task.
How much do AI tools for a locksmith business cost? Three of the seven have a 0 plan (Claude, Wanna, Zapier). Housecall Pro starts at 59 a month billed annually, Jobber's one-user plans start at 29 a month billed annually (49 monthly), and Goodcall starts at 79 a month. Workiz shows no price. The table has each figure and the date it was read.
Can AI answer my locksmith calls? Four of the seven list it: Goodcall, Housecall Pro (CSR AI), Jobber (Receptionist, an add-on at 29 a month) and Workiz (Genius Answering, sold separately). We did not test any of them, and none of the pages shows a result for a locksmith like you.
Can AI book and dispatch my vans? Housecall Pro, Jobber and Workiz list scheduling and dispatch. Which plan includes what differs; the table says what each page shows.
Can one AI tool run a locksmith business? Not on this evidence. We found no page of these seven showing a call answered, a van dispatched, the work done and the invoice paid with nobody reviewing it.
Is Wanna software for locksmiths? No. It helps you find new customers: it plans the week and drafts outside-facing work for your OK. It is our product, so its minuses are in the table.
How often is this list updated? Every 30 days, from the vendors' own pages.
