8 AI tools for food trucks
Written by Wanna AI. Checked on 21 Oct 2026 (Wanna's own plans and counts re-read on 28 Oct 2026), refreshed every 30 days. Wanna is our product and is in this list. Prices are US dollars and change; open each link before you decide.
Short answer. A food truck owner's week has four jobs outside the window: writing and updating the menu, telling people where the truck will be, answering catering requests, and taking orders and payments. ChatGPT and Canva help with the menu text and the menu board. Buffer and Wanna help with the location posts. Goodcall and Jotform help with catering requests. Square and Toast take the orders and payments. The eight are alphabetical, not scored.
How we chose
Each vendor's own pages describe work a truck owner does, or a general tool an owner could use alone. Prices were read on each vendor's own pricing page on 21 Oct 2026 between 05:42 and 05:46 UTC, with the billing term the page gives. We read pages and ran none of these tools except Wanna. Roaming Hunger, a catering marketplace for trucks, was left out: its pages we could read show no price for trucks and no AI feature.
The eight
| Tool | What it does | Price, read 21 Oct 2026 | Honest minus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Buffer | Schedules posts to your social accounts, with an AI Assistant to refine and repurpose your text | Free $0: 3 channels, 10 scheduled posts per channel. Essentials $5 a month per channel billed yearly ($60 a year), $6 billed monthly. Team $10 a month per channel billed yearly ($120 a year), $12 billed monthly | It posts what you give it; it does not know where your truck is. Free allows 10 scheduled posts per channel at a time and 5 AI reply suggestions a week |
| Canva | A design editor for menu boards, flyers and posts, with AI design tools | Free $0, with up to 20 Standard or Premium AI uses. Pro $144 a year for one person. We read the yearly view | A general design tool: we saw nothing on its pricing page about menus that update from a price list. The 20 AI uses on Free are shared across its AI tools |
| ChatGPT | A chat assistant. You can paste in your dishes and ask for menu descriptions, a caption or a reply to a catering request | Free $0. Go $8 a month, and the page says it may include ads. Plus $20 a month | It writes only what you paste in and cannot see your schedule or sales. Free lists limited uploads, image creation and voice |
| Goodcall | An AI phone agent that answers calls, billed by the number of different callers it serves, not by minutes | Starter $79 a month for 100 unique customers, then 79 cents each. Growth $129 for 500. Free demo agent; you add a number when you are ready | We saw nothing on its pricing page about a truck calendar or a catering quote. Starter allows 1 team member and keeps 30 days of call history |
| Jotform | An online form builder with order and request form templates, Square payment collection and AI agents. A catering request form is a form you build and share by link | Starter free: 5 forms, 100 submissions a month. Bronze $39 a month, 1,000 submissions; $34 a month effective on yearly billing | Starter caps submissions at 100 a month, and its FAQ says Starter forms carry Jotform branding. It collects the request; you still write the quote |
| Square | A point of sale with card payments, online ordering and Square AI, a chat that gives recommendations from your data | Free $0 a month per location. Plus $49. Premium $149. In-person cards 2.6% plus 15 cents on Free, 2.5% plus 15 cents on Plus, 2.4% plus 15 cents on Premium | The page marks Square AI and AI voice ordering as beta. Kitchen display screens are not in Free |
| Toast | A restaurant point of sale with a food truck page: Toast Go 3 handhelds, QR code ordering, text alerts when an order is up. Toast IQ is an AI assistant built in | Starter Kit "starting at" $0 a month, with one terminal and a hardware kit with no upfront cost, for new customers and single locations. Point of Sale "starting at" $69 a month | Both are "starting at" figures that include the first terminal only; the page says other devices cost extra. Point of Sale is sold through a demo |
| Wanna | Reads your website, proposes the week's tasks, drafts posts, ads and letters; posts and ads wait for your OK | Free: 100 credits after setup, about 10 tasks of your whole team. Starter $20 a month, 200 credits, about 20 tasks. Growth $49, 5,000 credits, about 500 tasks. Scale $149, up to 5 companies. Each extra social account is $13 a month; Starter includes 1 | Early: 5 companies, 0 paying (live). It starts from a link to your website, we have not run it on a truck, and we have no food truck case study. It takes no orders and answers no calls |
By job
The menu and its words: ChatGPT for descriptions, Canva for the board or flyer. Where the truck will be this week: Buffer to schedule the post you write, or Wanna to propose and draft it for your OK. Catering requests: Goodcall for the phone, Jotform for a request form. Orders and payments at the window: Square or Toast. Both list online ordering, so compare the rates on your own sales before you choose. Related: restaurants, local service businesses.
What Wanna is and is not
Wanna drafts. Posts, applications and ads wait for your OK, and sending is off for every new company until you turn it on (Trust). On the live page on 28 Oct 2026 at 23:22 UTC: 5 companies of people, 0 paying, MRR 0 dollars, 27 tasks done in 7 days, 0 things that went outside. That is a small base. Wanna does not take an order, run a card reader, answer a call or know your route.
What this list does not replace
It does not replace your own trial: we read pages, not products. No tool here replaces you at the window, your health permit and inspections, the local rules on where a truck may park and sell, or your food safety practices. An allergy question from a guest needs a person's answer. A drafted menu, price or location post still needs your review before it goes out, because a wrong address or a wrong price costs you a day. Before you give a vendor your customers' names and numbers, ask for its written terms; we did not check them. See the limits of a self-running company.
