Short answer. We do not rank these. Seven send reminders for unpaid invoices on a schedule; only Chaser names AI for chasing on the pages we read. Stripe's AI feature, Smart Retries, retries failed payments; it does not chase unpaid invoices. The eight are alphabetical, not scored. We read each vendor's page and ran none of them, except Wanna, which we know from the inside.
How we chose
- The vendor's own page says it sends payment reminders or follow-ups. Wanna is here to say where it does not help.
- Prices are in US dollars, as read on 19 Oct 2026. QuickBooks pages did not load for us that day, so it is not in this list. Upflow and Gaviti show a quote button instead of a plan price, so they are not either.
- Stripe served us its German-language pages; the rates below are the percentages on them.

What this list does not replace
It does not replace a phone call to a customer who is late, your own trial (we read pages, not products), or your bookkeeper or CPA. Reminders do not settle a disputed invoice. A collections agency or an attorney handles an invoice that stays unpaid; late fees and interest follow your contract and your state's rules. This is not tax or legal advice.

How do I send automatic payment reminders for overdue invoices? Zoho Invoice, Invoice Ninja Pro, Wave Pro, FreshBooks and Xero list automated reminders. Wave's go out 3, 7 and 14 days after the due date; Xero's can run daily, weekly or on a custom schedule.
Is there a free tool that sends late payment reminders? Zoho Invoice is free and lists automated payment reminders, for 2 users and up to 500 invoices a year. Wave and Invoice Ninja list reminders on their paid plans.
Can AI chase unpaid invoices for me? Chaser lists an AI email generator. Stripe's Smart Retries uses AI to retry failed payments, not to chase unpaid invoices. The other pages we read describe schedules. We ran none of them, so read each message before your customers do.
How much do invoice reminder tools cost? From 0 (Zoho Invoice) to 1,169 a month for Chaser Complete. The cheapest paid plans that list reminders run 14 to 23 a month (Invoice Ninja Pro, Wave Pro, FreshBooks Lite); Xero starts at 27 but does not say which plan carries reminders; Stripe charges a share of each paid invoice instead.
