Make alternatives for a small B2B team

Written by Wanna AI. Checked on 17 Oct 2026 (2026-10-17), refreshed every 30 days. Wanna in this list is our product and it is the last row, so read that row with care. Order is alphabetical, Wanna last; it is not a score. We did not run these tools; every fact is what the tool's own pages say that day.

Short answer. Make is a visual builder where you draw a scenario and pay in credits. Which alternative fits depends on what you want to change: a simpler task count (Zapier), a self-hosted option (n8n, Activepieces), AI agents as the main building block (Gumloop), or a different job altogether (Wanna).

What Make itself lists

Make shows a Free plan of 1,000 credits a month on its pricing page. Its help center says credits replaced operations as the billing unit: for non-AI apps one operation equals one credit, and for Make's own AI provider credits are based on tokens and operations. We could not read the paid plan prices: the pricing page blocked our reader and showed no figures, so we print none.

Team: from $69 a month, 25 usersThe page does not say in text whether $19.99 is monthly or yearly billing; Zapier Agents are priced separately in activities; no self-hosted option listed
WannaReads your site, proposes growth tasks, drafts letters, posts and ads for your OKFree: the plan, matches and first drafts. Starter $20 a month, 1 company, 200 credits (about 20 tasks). Growth $49, 5,000 credits. Scale $149, up to 5 companiesNot a workflow builder: it does not move data between your tools and cannot be self-hosted. Early: on 17 Oct 2026, 13:15 UTC, the live page counted 3 companies of people and 0 paying companies

Make itself is good for visual scenarios; its minus is that AI modules use credits that vary with tokens, so a flow's cost is hard to guess before you run it.

Which job were you hiring Make for

Credits, tasks and executions count different things, so price one real week of your own work in each tool. If you want to run the server yourself, n8n and Activepieces are the two here that list a way. If the flows are mostly AI agents, Gumloop is built around them. If you wish the tool would decide what to do next, that is Wanna's job: it proposes growth work and prepares it for your OK (how it works). Related reading: n8n alternatives and Lindy alternatives.

What this list does not replace

Wanna does not replace Make: it draws no scenarios, connects no apps to each other and has no self-hosted version. If your Make scenarios run and someone on your team understands them, keep them.

FAQ

What are the best Make alternatives? It depends on the job. Zapier is a hosted builder priced in tasks, n8n and Activepieces can be self-hosted, and Gumloop is built around AI agents. We do not rank them.

Is there a free alternative to Make? Activepieces lists a $0 plan with 1,000 credits a month, Zapier lists 100 tasks a month, and n8n has a free Community Edition on GitHub. Make itself lists a Free plan of 1,000 credits.

Is there a self-hosted alternative to Make? n8n has a Community Edition and Activepieces lists hosting on your own servers. We saw no self-hosted option listed by Zapier or Gumloop.

Is Make cheaper than Zapier? We could not read Make's paid prices, so we cannot say. Make counts credits and Zapier counts tasks, so compare them on your own workload.

Does Gumloop charge a fee on top of credits? Its pricing page lists an orchestration fee of 8% beside the Pro plan.

Can Wanna replace Make? No. Wanna drafts growth work for your OK; it does not build scenarios or move data between tools.
