Kahl lists ways founders pay the bills while building a business: moonlighting, going part-time, freelancing or running an agency, a productized service, and finally a customer-funded business. He also covers harder-to-reach options such as savings, another business or a previous exit, and calls outside funding the bootstrapper's worst enemy because it comes with strings attached.
