Cash-flow business

Treat a grant as a bonus, not as your foundation

The author helped hand out about two million in grants to small businesses and noticed who took a delay calmly. He concludes that one-time grant money cannot hold up a business and that a cash cushion of several months, plus going after revenue, matters more than waiting for funding.

“There was no way to build a reliable business on top of subsidies.”— Kenny Alami, 4 lessons I learned giving 2 million to small businesses, Feb 2024
