Cash-flow business

Prove the concept first before you franchise it

Sweeney, founder of Camile Thai Kitchen, lists steps for preparing to franchise, starting with a pilot business that proves the model is replicable and that customers will pay prices leaving both you and a franchisee an acceptable profit. He adds that franchising is like setting up a wholly new business, that processes should be written in a manual, and that winning the first franchisee may call for concessions.

“Until your concept is proven, forget about franchising it.”— Brody Sweeney, How to prepare your business for franchising to others, Jul 2022

Do this

Check whether someone other than you could run your location from written steps, and put those steps into a manual before you talk to any possible franchisee.
