Wanna / Plumbing, where to put marketing money

Where should my plumbing business put its marketing money next?

Find out where your last year of calls came from, then give one channel 30 days and count the calls it brings. That is common practice, not something we measured with a plumber. Wanna drafts an offer, posts and a weekly plan from your website for your OK. It does not bring in calls or run ads.

What plumbing owners say, and how thin it is

We read ten quotes in three forum threads dated 18 to 28 Aug 2026. They come from two people who describe themselves as plumbing business owners. Nobody has checked those roles, and two people cannot tell you how many plumbers feel this way. We could not open the forum, so the quotes are copied from our research notes, not re-read on the original pages.

The first owner runs a shop with one truck and is expanding to two. On 18 Aug 2026 they write: "Trying to figure out where to put marketing dollars next and would rather hear from people actually doing it than read another agency’s blog post." They also ask: "For those of you running plumbing companies: what’s your real lead mix right now?"

On 28 Aug 2026 the same person, now with two vans, writes: "Google LSA has not really picked up yet in my target area." Next: "I’m thinking that focusing on Google Ads instead might be a better use of our funds." And: "I’m not looking for solicitation of services from marketing firms but rather plumbing business owners like me who have experience with an agency they like."

The second owner, also a software engineer, writes on 25 Aug 2026: "Trying to diversify the leads." They are "Exploring organic leads through facebook groups posting and engagement." They add: "I see many vendors are promising 5-10x ROAS against retainer fee, but not sure how it works."

One day later, 26 Aug 2026, the same owner says: "I am focusing on generating more calls." Their reply says call handling is already covered. So by their account the gap is demand, not missed calls.

Step 1: count where your calls came from

Make a sheet with one row per job from the last year: the date, how the customer found you (a neighbor, a truck, a search, a Facebook group, an ad, a repeat call) and whether they called you again. Count rows per source. It shows where you are thin, not why.

Step 2: give one channel 30 days

Pick one. The owners above mention Google LSA, Google Ads and local Facebook groups. We have not measured which works best for a plumber, and the first owner says LSA had not picked up in their area. Write the offer in one line first. At day 30, count the new calls and what each cost you.

Step 3: ask any agency for counts, not ratios

The second owner is unsure how "5-10x ROAS against retainer fee" works. One way to test a pitch is to ask for new calls from your service area, counted by you. We have not audited any agency.

Where Wanna fits

You paste your website link. The home page says starting is free with no card, and nothing goes out without your OK.

We recorded Wanna on one plumbing company's website on 22 Oct 2026. It saved five items, among them a first week of up to three tasks a day, a LinkedIn post in two versions, a 7-day plan and an offer for quiet days. That is one recording of one site. We have not measured whether any of it brings calls, and Wanna is early.

What Wanna does not replace

  • It does not answer your phone or book jobs.
  • It does not run Google LSA or Google Ads.
  • It does not join Facebook groups or post for you without your OK.
  • It does not promise calls or a place in local search.
  • It does not send a tech, price a job or hold a license.
  • It does not tell you which channel is best for your town.
