Wanna / Auto repair, slow weeks
My auto repair shop has slow weeks. Where should I put marketing time and money?
First find out which weeks are slow and where your jobs came from in the weeks that were not. Then give one free channel 30 days and count the jobs you can name. That is common practice, not something we measured in a shop. Wanna drafts posts and messages. Posts wait for your OK. It does not bring in cars or run ads.

What mechanics say, and how thin it is
We found six quoted lines from two reviews, written by two people who say they are mobile mechanics. Both wrote App Store reviews, in August and September 2026. We re-read both word for word on 24 Oct 2026. Nobody has checked that they are mechanics, two people are not a trend, and both reviews are one star. We found no owner of a shop with bays writing about marketing, and none of the six quoted lines says "slow weeks". That worry is our name for it.
On 26 Aug 2026 the first mechanic wrote about a lead app: "customers don’t even pay a penny yet I spent over $1000 a month." And: "you’re better off just slapping a magnet on your vehicle and driving around advertising. At least you’re not paying a company to control you."
The same review says that after leaving that app, "I can work a quarter of the time and make substantially more now." We did not check that.
On 2 Sep 2026 the second mechanic wrote about a local business app: "They force you to pay for premium, but still no results." And: "you get 'lead' and after you answer customers never schedule service with you." They end: "Promote your business anywhere, but just not here. Google, google maps and other platforms at least work."
One says the bill ran over $1000 a month, nine dollars for each new message, with leads outside the criteria set and not refunded. The other says paid leads never booked. We cannot tell you whether that is typical for repair shops.
Step 1: find the slow weeks in your own records
Make a sheet with one row per week for the last 12 months and write how many jobs you did. Next to each job, write how the customer found you in their words: a neighbor, a sign, a search, a repeat visit. Count rows per source, then see whether slow weeks repeat each year or one source went quiet.
Step 2: do the arithmetic before you pay to be seen
The mechanics above did their own arithmetic: a monthly bill against jobs. Write what you paid last month for ads, apps or lead fees, and count the jobs you can name.
Step 3: ask people who already know you
Send customers who came back a short message, such as a reminder or a review request. We have not tested this with a mechanic.
Step 4: give one free channel 30 days
The second mechanic says Google and Google Maps work. That is one person, and we have not measured it. If you try it, make one change and count at day 30 the jobs that name it.
Where Wanna fits
You paste your link. Wanna reads the pages anyone can open, asks whether it understood your business, and you pick one goal. It drafts posts and messages, and posts wait for your OK. The start is free with no card and covers the first five things Wanna makes. Ongoing work is on a paid plan.
We have not recorded Wanna on a repair shop's website and have no mechanic's result to show. Wanna is early, and this page does not promise a fuller schedule.
What Wanna does not replace
- It does not diagnose or repair a car.
- It does not answer your phone or book a job.
- It does not run Google ads or manage your Google Maps listing.
- It does not post without your OK.
- It does not promise calls or a place in local search.
