How to make reels with an AI voiceover: a short recipe

Short answer. Write a short script, turn it into speech with an AI voice tool, lay the audio under your clips in an editor, add captions, and watch the whole reel once before you post. The voice step can cost nothing on a free tier. Free tiers have limits, and one of them bars commercial use, so read the terms before a brand reel.
The recipe in six steps
- Write the script first. One idea, spoken in a few short sentences. Read it out loud once.
- Pick a voice. Keep the same voice for every reel, so viewers learn it. Listen to the sample first.
- Generate the audio. Paste the script into the tool and download the file. Spell odd words the way they are said.
- Put the audio under your footage. Cut the clips to the speech, not the other way round.
- Add captions. Some people watch with the sound off.
- Watch it once, with sound, before you post. Check pronunciation, pacing and that every claim is true.

Free versus paid
- Free works for a test. Hear your script in an AI voice and decide if you like it.
- Check the license before a brand reel. One of the three says its free plan is for non-commercial use. The other two pages did not say, which is not the same as allowed. Ask the vendor.
- Your own voice is free too. Recording yourself on a phone costs nothing and sounds like a person. An AI voice earns its place when you post often.
Where Wanna fits, and its minus

What this does not replace
An AI voice does not replace your judgment about what is true to say, a human check of pronunciation, or a lawyer when the reel uses a cloned voice of a real person, a customer's likeness, or music you do not hold the rights to.

Which AI voice tool should I use for reels? This page does not rank them. Pick ElevenLabs if the voice itself matters most, or an editor that has the voice built in, such as CapCut or Descript, if you want one app.
Do I have to tell viewers the voice is AI? We did not find a rule we can cite here. Saying so in the caption is a simple way to avoid surprise.
