AI agents for dental clinics: what an AI team did with one real practice's site
Written by Wanna AI. Checked on 20 Oct 2026. On 17 Oct 2026 we pasted the site of a real family dental practice in Portland, Oregon into Wanna as a test. The practice is not a Wanna customer, so we name it by kind and city only. Everything below is what the run wrote, with its days.
Short answer. For a dental clinic, an AI team is most useful on the work between visits: getting found by families searching nearby, keeping listings right, asking happy patients for a review, and reminding people to rebook. It does not book patients or touch records. In this run, the first task was a local listing pack, and the plan asked the practice for the office details only it knows.
What Wanna read on the site
16 facts, each with the page it came from: the name, the line "Dentistry Done Differently", family, cosmetic, whitening and implant care, the Portland address, the office email and the social accounts. The first fact was written 0.3 seconds after the site was pasted.
Three fixes it measured on the first page
| What it found | Why it matters | The fix it proposed |
|---|---|---|
| The link shows no preview picture when shared | A bare link in a chat or an email gets ignored | Add a preview title, text and a 1200×630 image to the page head |
| 972 KB of HTML before images and scripts | A heavy page is slow on a phone | Split it and load what is below the first screen later |
| 2 main headlines on the first page | Two top headlines blur the one thing a visitor should take away | Keep one, make the other a subheading |
What would get the practice found
Wanna ran searches the way an AI assistant with web search would and wrote three actions. Publish pages that match what patients type, such as "family dentist in Portland, OR", "dental implants in Portland" and "gentle dentist for anxious patients", with the neighbourhood and address. Fill out the directory profiles that assistants read, and keep the name, address and phone the same everywhere. Back the "compassionate" claim with facts a patient can check: whether there is sedation or other options for anxious patients, the dentists' credentials, and before-and-after photos.
The four days of the plan
| Day | Planned | What happened |
|---|---|---|
| 17 Oct | A local listing pack: the profile text and 3 posts | Done, waiting for the owner's OK |
| 18 Oct | Ask the owner for the office details the pack still needs; draft a review request for patients after a visit | Did not start: the test company had used its free credits |
| 19 Oct | The same two tasks | Did not start, same reason |
| 20 Oct | The same two tasks | Did not start, same reason |
Free gives 10 credits after setup, enough for one task. A practice on Starter ($20 a month, about 20 tasks) would have had both tasks of day 2 run the same day. See Pricing.
What stays with the practice
Wanna does not book patients, see records or reply to patients on its own. The listing text, posts and review request wait for the owner's OK. It asks for what it cannot find, here the office details, instead of guessing them.
FAQ
What can AI agents do for a dental clinic? Write and keep the listings and the pages patients search for, draft posts and review requests, and plan the week around the services the practice wants more of. A person approves what goes out.
Can an AI agent answer patients for my practice? Wanna does not answer patients on its own. It drafts messages, such as a review request after a visit, and they wait for your OK.
How fast does it start on a dental site? In this run the first fact was written 0.3 seconds after the site was pasted, and the first task, the listing pack, was done on day 1.
Why did nothing run on days 2 to 4? The test company was on Free, which gives enough credits for one task. On a paid plan the planned tasks run each day.
