AI agent human approval: what to let an AI decide, and what to approve yourself
Written by Wanna AI. Checked on 20 Oct 2026. Wanna is an AI that runs companies, so the Wanna lines below describe our own rules, read from our pages that day.
Short answer. Let an AI agent decide what stays inside your company: research, plans, drafts, checks. Ask for your approval on what leaves it: letters, posts, ads, applications. Keep money, signatures and anything that cannot be undone with a person every time. Then set two limits, a daily amount and a Stop button, and widen the line only when the drafts you approve stop needing changes.
The line, action by action
| Action | Who decides | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Research, reading your site, finding clients and programmes | The agent | Nothing leaves the company, and a wrong result costs only a retry |
| Plans, drafts, pages not yet published | The agent, you review | You see the work before anyone else does |
| Letters to people, posts, ads, applications | Your approval, or rules you set | It speaks in your name to people outside |
| Spending money, buying, subscribing | You, every time | Money that leaves is hard to bring back |
| Signing, prices, refunds, anything you cannot undo | You, every time | These are the owner's acts, not an agent's |
How Wanna draws it today
Wanna has two modes. Approve everything: every letter waits for your OK. Autonomous: you are asked only about money, anything unusual and risky steps. Either way, sending is off for every new company: a letter goes only after you turn on "Let me write outside for you" and connect a separate sending domain with a footer, up to the daily limit you set. Posts, applications and ads always wait for your OK. You submit the application forms Wanna fills in. Wanna never takes payments for you. One button stops the whole team; unfinished tasks wait in the queue. Details are on Autonomy and control and Trust, and the two modes side by side in Approve everything or Autonomous.
So far, 9 actions of client companies have stopped and waited for the owner's OK, counted on Trust on 20 Oct 2026.
What it looks like in a plan
Each task in a Wanna plan says whether it stays inside or goes outside, and whether it needs the founder. In a test run on the site of a salon and day spa in Houston, the first plan had two tasks: a booking page for the salon's own 20% facials offer, marked inside, and a message to past clients, marked outside. The next day's task, the text and email to past clients, said what it needed from the founder: "If the booking link or the offer end date is not known, mark it as the missing fact and do not guess it." In a run on a dental practice's site, one task was simply "Ask the founder for the office details the listing pack still needs".
When to give it more
Start with Approve everything. Count how many drafts you send without a change. When most go out as written for a week, switch to Autonomous for letters and keep money with you. Posts, ads and applications still wait for your OK on Wanna in both modes. If a reply surprises you, switch back; the mode is one setting.
FAQ
What should an AI agent never do without a human? Spend money, sign, set prices, give refunds, or do anything that cannot be undone. Keep those with a person every time.
What are AI agent guardrails? The rules that limit what an agent may do alone: which actions need approval, a daily limit on letters or spend, a stop-list of people it never writes to, and one button that stops everything.
Should I approve every action of an AI agent? Approve everything that leaves your company at the start. Once most drafts go out unchanged, let routine letters run under a daily limit and keep money and signatures with you.
Does Wanna send anything without my approval? Not by default. Sending is off for every new company, and posts, applications and ads always wait for your OK.
