8 AI tools for cafes and small restaurants
Written by Wanna AI. Checked on 26 Oct 2026 for Wanna's own credits and 24 Oct 2026 for the vendors, refreshed every 30 days. Wanna is our product and is in this list. Prices change; open each link before you decide.
Short answer. A cafe or small restaurant has four marketing jobs that software can touch: posts for Instagram and Facebook, an offer for the slow hours, replies to reviews, and bookings or calls. Two of the eight tools below, SevenRooms and Slang AI, ask you for a quote, and the table says so. The eight are alphabetical, not scored. We read each vendor's page and ran none of them, except Wanna, which we know from the inside. Our list for kitchens, stock and food cost is AI tools for restaurants; this one is about finding and keeping guests.
How we chose
- The vendor's own page describes a job a cafe or small restaurant does: posting, texting or emailing regulars, answering reviews, taking reservations.
- A price or limit we could not read on 24 Oct 2026 is marked as not shown. Canva and Adobe Express refused our request, so they are not in this list.
- Prices are in US dollars, as read that day. Each link goes to the vendor's home page.
The eight
| Tool | What it does | Who it is for | Price and limits, read 24 Oct 2026 (Wanna: 26 Oct 2026) | Honest minuses |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Buffer | Schedules posts to Instagram, Facebook, Google Business Profile and other channels; an AI Assistant helps write them | A cafe that posts a few times a week and wants them planned in one sitting | Free: 0, up to 3 channels, 10 scheduled posts per channel. Essentials from 6 a month per channel (5 a month per channel, 60 a year, if billed yearly). Team from 12 (10, 120 a year, if billed yearly). 14-day free trial on paid plans | Priced per channel, so each added channel adds to the bill; the free plan holds 10 scheduled posts per channel at a time |
| NiceJob | Asks customers for reviews by text and email; its Pro plan lists "auto-written review replies" | A shop that wants more reviews and faster replies | Starter 75 a month. Pro 125 a month. 14-day free trial, no contracts | AI Replies are on Pro only; it auto-shares reviews to Facebook and X and leaves Instagram to you by hand |
| Owner | Restaurant website, online ordering, loyalty, and email and text campaigns | A restaurant or cafe that wants takeout orders on its own site | Flexible: 249 a month plus a 5% restaurant fee per order. Flat: 499 a month, no restaurant fees, "best for restaurants at $5k+/mo in online sales". Guests pay a 5% order support fee on both. Month to month | The lowest plan is 249 a month before the per-order fee; the flat plan is aimed at larger online sales |
| SevenRooms | Reservations, waitlist, guest profiles and table management; Voice AI and text marketing are listed as add-ons | A restaurant that takes reservations | Not shown: Starter says "Get a quote", and the page shows no dollar price for Starter, Growth or Premium | No price to weigh before you talk to sales; Voice AI and text marketing sit under "Available add-ons", not in Starter |
| SimpleTexting | Texts to people who agreed to hear from you, with auto-replies, drip campaigns, opt-in forms and an AI message generator | A cafe sending an offer for a slow day to its regulars | Its estimator for 500 texts a month reads 39.00 (29 for credits plus 10 for a local number), "billed yearly at $398.40", plus a 4 one-time carrier registration. Extra credits 5.5 cents each. Free try, no card | A picture message costs 3 credits; carrier fees come on top ("approximately $0.0025 per message" in the US, by its own page) |
| Slang AI | Answers restaurant calls and turns them into reservations; sends text links and confirmations | A restaurant that misses calls during service | Core: "Starting at $399 per location". Premium: "Starting at $599 per location". Enterprise: Get a quote. No billing period is printed next to the prices | Both prices are "Starting at" figures per location, with "Get a quote" beside them, so the final bill is not on the page |
| Square | Point of sale; with Plus or Premium, email and text campaigns, coupons and automated messages for new, birthday and lapsed customers | A cafe that already rings sales on Square | Free: 0. Plus: 49 a month per location, 500 texts a month then 3 cents each. Premium: 149 a month per location, 2,500 texts then 1.5 cents each. 30-day free trial of Plus | Email and text marketing need Plus or Premium ("Yes. You need a subscription to Square Plus or Square Premium"), so the free plan has neither |
| Wanna | Reads your site, proposes the week's tasks, drafts posts, offers, letters and ads; posts and ads wait for your OK (Trust) | An owner who wants the week planned and drafted, not a till or a booking tool | Free: 100 credits after setup, enough for about 10 tasks. Confirm your email to get daily task credits while you use the free plan; unused daily credits expire. Starter 20 a month, 200 credits. Growth 49, 5,000 credits. Scale 149, up to 5 companies, 16,000 credits | Early: 4 customer companies, 0 paying on 26 Oct 2026 (live). It takes no reservations or orders and has no cafe case study |
By job
Posts for the week: Buffer, or the drafts from Wanna. An offer for a slow day: Square if you already use it, SimpleTexting if you do not, Owner for its own ordering site. Replies to reviews: NiceJob (Pro). Reservations and calls: SevenRooms or Slang AI. Knowing what to post and offer this week: Wanna. Similar lists for local service businesses and social media schedulers. How we suggest you weigh any vendor: how to choose.
What Wanna is and is not
In Wanna's onboarding you paste your site link and the team drafts a post and an offer for your quiet days from what it reads there, for your OK. Posts and ads always wait for your OK; letters go out only after you turn sending on (Trust). On the live page at 16:49 UTC on 26 Oct 2026: 4 customer companies, 0 paying, MRR $0, 17 tasks done for them in 7 days. That is a small base. We have no figures showing that its offers fill a quiet day, and it cannot see your sales to tell you which day is slow.
What this list does not replace
It does not replace your own trial: we read pages, not products. It does not replace you reading a reply to a review before it posts, a person who answers a guest with an allergy question, your food safety practices and local health rules, or the rules for texting customers (consent and opt-out) that apply to every texting tool here. We did not review any vendor's terms or any of those rules. Your till and your reservation book stay the record of who came and when.
FAQ
What are the best AI tools for a cafe? We do not rank them. The By job section sorts the eight by task.
What AI tools can a small restaurant use for social media posts? Buffer schedules posts to Instagram, Facebook and Google Business Profile, and has a free plan for up to 3 channels. Wanna drafts posts from your website for your OK.
How can a cafe fill quiet hours with AI? Pick one slow day and one offer with an end date, then send it to people who agreed to hear from you. Square and SimpleTexting send the texts; Wanna drafts the offer. We have no figures on how many guests an offer brings.
Can AI reply to my cafe's Google reviews? NiceJob lists AI Replies on its 125-a-month Pro plan. We did not run it. Read each reply before it posts.
Can AI take bookings for a small restaurant? SevenRooms says its Voice AI "answers every guest call, books reservations", and Slang AI says it turns calls into reservations. We ran neither, so call your own line and test a booking and an allergy question first.
How much do AI tools for a cafe cost? Buffer, Square and Wanna have a 0 tier. NiceJob is 75 or 125 a month, Owner 249 or 499, Square Plus 49 per location. SevenRooms needs a quote and Slang AI starts at 399 per location. The table has each figure and the date it was read.
Is Wanna a cafe tool? Not specifically. It helps an owner decide what to post and offer by drafting posts, offers, letters and ads; posts and ads wait for your OK. It is our product, so its minuses are in the table.
How often is this list updated? Every 30 days, from the vendors' own pages.
