8 AI tools for auto repair shops

Written by Wanna AI. Checked on 18 Oct 2026, refreshed every 30 days. Wanna is our product and is in this list. Prices change; open each link before you decide.

Short answer. A repair shop has four jobs that software can touch: bookings, reminders, review requests, and an offer to customers who are due for service. Four of the eight tools below are shop management systems (they run the repair order, and texting, reminders or reviews sit on top of the plan you pick). The other four do reviews, posting, texting leads, or planning. The eight are alphabetical, not scored. We read each vendor's page and ran none of them, except Wanna, which we know from the inside.

How we chose

  • The vendor's own page describes a job a repair shop does, or a general tool its owner or service writer could use.
  • A price or limit we could not read on 18 Oct 2026 is marked as not shown. Prices are US dollars as served to us. "Billed yearly" means the lower monthly figure the page shows for an annual plan.
  • Each link goes to the vendor's home page.

WannaReads your site, proposes the week's tasks, drafts posts, offers, letters and ads. Posts and ads wait for your OK; letters go out only after you turn sending on (Trust)An owner who wants the week planned and drafted, not a shop systemFree: 10 credits once, enough for one task. Starter 20 a month, 200 credits. Growth 49, 5,000 credits. Scale 149, up to 5 companies, 16,000 creditsEarly: 3 companies, 0 paying (live). By job

Running the repair order, with texting and reminders: AutoLeap, Shop-Ware, Shopmonkey or Tekmetric; compare the plan that holds the feature you need, not the entry price. Reminders from the first plan: Shopmonkey. Answering calls you miss: AutoLeap's AIR at 99 a month, or Shop-Ware's AI Receptionist if its price turns out to fit. Review requests: NiceJob, Podium, or the review tools inside the shop systems, on their higher plans or in add-ons. Posting the offer: Buffer. Deciding which offer to send and drafting it: Wanna. Wider lists: local service businesses and social media schedulers. How we suggest you weigh any vendor: how to choose.

What Wanna is and is not

In Wanna's onboarding you paste your site link and the team drafts a post and an offer from what it reads there, for your OK. Posts and ads always wait for your OK; letters go out only after you turn sending on (Trust). On the live page at 07:44 UTC on 18 Oct 2026: 3 companies of people, 0 paying, MRR $0, 21 tasks done in 7 days. That is a small base. We have no figures showing that its offers bring a repair shop customers, and it cannot see your repair orders to tell you who is due for service.

What this list does not replace

It does not replace your own demo: we read pages, not products, and a shop management system is the one tool here your service writers and technicians use all day, so test it with your real labor rates, parts vendors and open repair orders before you move. It does not replace a technician's diagnosis, the estimate and authorization steps your state requires, or reading a reply to a review before it posts. Consent and opt-out rules for texting customers apply to every texting tool here, and we did not review any vendor's terms, payment rates or those rules. Your shop system stays the record of what was authorized and done.

FAQ

What are the best AI tools for an auto repair shop? We do not rank them. The By job section sorts the eight by task, and only some of them list any AI at all.

What software can an auto repair shop use for appointment reminders? Shopmonkey lists automated appointment reminders on every plan. AutoLeap lists reminders and appointments in its shop management plans, Tekmetric sells reminders and review requests in its 345-a-month Marketing add-on on top of a plan, and Shop-Ware sells service reminders in its 249-a-month CRM add-on. Entry plans billed yearly: AutoLeap 179, Shopmonkey 215, Shop-Ware 251, Tekmetric 179 (plan only, add-on extra).

Can AI answer an auto repair shop's phone? AutoLeap sells AIR, an AI receptionist, at 99 a month, and a Shop-Ware page lists an AI Receptionist with no price on its pricing page. Podium describes an AI Employee that schedules and communicates with customers; its pricing page lists the AI Scheduler on the Signature plan, custom pricing (Core is 399 a month, Pro 599), with phone seats extra. We ran none, so call your own line and test a booking and a question first.

How can a repair shop get more Google reviews with AI? NiceJob asks customers for reviews by text and email from 75 a month, and Podium collects reviews by text from 399 a month. Shopmonkey's Genius plan lists a Google Reviews Manager (its CRM Essentials add-on brings reviews to any plan), AutoLeap's Elite plan includes integrated Google Reviews, and Tekmetric sells verified customer reviews in its 345-a-month Marketing add-on, which does not say Google.

Can AI reply to my shop's reviews? NiceJob lists AI Replies on its 125-a-month Pro plan. We did not run it. Read each reply before it posts.

How much does auto repair shop software cost? The four shop systems start at 179 a month billed yearly (Tekmetric Start, AutoLeap Essentials), 215 (Shopmonkey Basic) and 251 (Shop-Ware Startup); their top listed plans run from 409 to 899 billed yearly, with enterprise or multi-shop pricing on request. Review and posting tools start at 0 for Buffer and 75 for NiceJob. The table has each figure and the date it was read.

How can a repair shop send an offer to past customers? Pick one slow stretch and one offer with an end date, then send it to customers who agreed to hear from you. The texting and campaign tools in the shop systems send it; Wanna drafts the offer and Buffer posts it. We have no figures on how many jobs an offer brings.

Is Wanna an auto repair tool? Not specifically. It helps an owner decide what to post and offer by drafting posts, offers, letters and ads; posts and ads wait for your OK. It does not book appointments or run repair orders. It is our product, so its minuses are in the table.

How often is this list updated? Every 30 days, from the vendors' own pages.
