Top 7 AI chief of staff tools for founders in 2026
Written by Wanna AI. Updated 17 Oct 2026. Checked on 17 Oct 2026. This page was written by Wanna AI; Wanna in this list is our product, so read its row with that in mind. The list is alphabetical, not a ranking.
Short answer. An AI chief of staff keeps track of what your inbox, calendar and follow-ups hold, so nothing slips. Five tools below do that for one person, one reads the experts you follow instead of your mail, and one (Wanna) is a different kind of tool that we list so you can compare. Only three of the seven call themselves an AI chief of staff on their own pages. Prices below were read from each vendor's own site today.
How we chose
- The tool's own pages describe an AI that keeps a founder or small team on top of email, meetings, follow-ups or priorities, or it is named in answers to "AI chief of staff" questions.
- We could read its own pages on 17 Oct 2026. Where a price is not shown there, the row says "not published".
- The table has one column that says whether the tool uses the words "AI chief of staff" about itself, so a loose fit is visible.
- Every row, ours too, gets the same columns and at least one honest minus. We left out ratings and review scores because we did not test any tool.
The seven at a glance
| Tool | What it does | Calls itself an AI chief of staff? | Who it is for | Price and plan limits, read 17 Oct 2026 | Honest minuses |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Adviserry | Reads the newsletters and videos of experts you follow, plus your documents, and drafts the moves worth making this week; read-only | No: its homepage says "advisory panel"; its blog has a guide to chief of staff tools | Founders who follow experts and act on little of it | 14 days free. Core: $14.99 a month, weekly drafted actions, 2 panels. Pro: $24.99 a month, daily actions, AI chat, memory, 5 panels. Team (for 5 people): $99.99 a month | Works from experts' content, not your inbox or calendar; Core has no AI chat or memory |
| alfred_ | Tracks replies you owe and asks still waiting on an answer across your inboxes and calendars, with follow-ups ready for your approval | Yes: "Your AI chief of staff" | Founders and client-facing teams | 7 days free, card required. Starter $29.99, Pro $44.99, Power $99.99, Max $199.99 a month, or $25, $37.50, $83.33, $166.67 a month billed annually; 2,000, 4,000, 10,000 and 25,000 credits a month. Team: $49.99 a seat a month, or $41.67 billed annually | Its own page says "Judgment, strategy and relationships stay with you and your team"; routines pause when credits run out until the next billing date |
| Chief of Staff | Reads email, Slack and calendar, ranks what needs the CEO, drafts a reply for each item and sends a morning brief; nothing sends without approval | Yes: "Your AI Chief of Staff" | Startup CEOs | Free during private beta, no card. Listed after beta: Starter $49 a month (Gmail), Pro $149 a month (Gmail, Slack and calendar, 6 AI agents); Executive $299 a month is marked coming soon | A private beta with early-access sign-up; the beta price is zero and billing has not started, so the listed prices may change |
| Fyxer | Labels and drafts email in your tone, records meetings and keeps a follow-up list | No: it calls itself an AI email assistant | Solo operators and teams on Gmail or Outlook | 14-day free trial. Pro: $37 a person a month billed annually, with $49 shown beside it. Team: $64 a person a month billed annually. Unlimited credits for the first 3 months, then 3,000 a month on Pro | Centered on email and meetings, not on priorities or goals; the usage cap starts after the launch offer |
| Nerve | Reads email, calendar and Slack for a daily briefing, email triage with drafts and meeting prep | Yes, as a second line: "Nerve is also an AI Chief of Staff for founders who are the whole team" | Founders who are the whole team | Free trial. Pro: $29 a month billed monthly, 150 actions a month. Operator: $79 a month for the first 50 members, then $129, 750 actions. Teams: from $49 a seat a month | Its homepage leads with a service for finance and operations teams, so the founder product is a side line; Pro is capped at 150 actions |
| Pally | A personal assistant you text: remembers people, follows up on open items, books and calls; it asks before sending or buying | No: it calls itself a personal assistant | Individuals who live in messaging apps | Main plan is free, no card; usage is capped by a weekly limit and the page gives no number. Pally VIP, by invitation only: $1,000 a month or $10,000 a year, with higher usage limits. A paid add-on, Cloud Mac, has no price shown | The usage limit is not published; built around personal tasks and messaging, not a company's goals |
| Wanna | Plans a small company's week and drafts outside-facing work (letters, posts, applications, ads, site fixes). In Approve everything mode each waits for your OK. In Autonomous mode it answers comments under your own posts by itself and, once you turn on "Let me write outside for you", sends first letters to people already in your Outreach; posts and anything it finds risky still wait for you, per Trust | No: it calls itself an AI CEO; see AI chief of staff vs AI CEO | Founders with a live product and a site | Starter at $20 a month, 1 company, 200 credits; the plan and first drafts are free; 1 task is 10 credits | Not built around your inbox: it reads who wrote, the subject and a short preview of your mail (never the whole letter), and adds events to your calendar, only if you add each of those permissions yourself, per Trust; on /live at 11:40 UTC on 17 Oct 2026: 3 companies of people, 0 paying, $0 MRR; no SOC 2 report yet, per Trust |
What to look for
The tools split by what they read. alfred_, Chief of Staff, Fyxer and Nerve read your mail and calendar, so they fit "what is waiting on me". Adviserry reads other people's advice, which fits "what should I do this week". Pally works from your texts. Wanna reads your company's site and proposes company work; it reads your mail (who wrote, the subject and a short preview) only if you add that permission, and it is early.
Questions to ask any of them: which accounts does it read, does anything send without your approval, what is the usage cap, and what does the price become after a trial or beta. For Wanna the second answer is yes in Autonomous mode, as its row says. Our page on how to choose goes through the same questions.
What an AI chief of staff does not replace
It does not replace a person for judgment, strategy and relationships. alfred_'s own page says the same: the software does the keeping-track part and judgment stays with you. It also does not replace your CRM, your accountant or your own trial of a tool. We read pages and did not test any product, so every figure is the vendor's own and can change. For an AI that runs the company work rather than your inbox, see What is an AI CEO?.
FAQ
What is an AI chief of staff? Software that keeps track of your email, calendar and follow-ups and tells you what needs you. alfred_ describes it as the keeping-track part of a chief of staff's job, with judgment left to you.
What are the best AI chief of staff tools for founders? Seven that fit the question on 17 Oct 2026: Adviserry, alfred_, Chief of Staff, Fyxer, Nerve, Pally and Wanna. We do not rank them; the fit depends on whether you need your inbox handled, advice turned into actions, or company work drafted.
How much does an AI chief of staff cost? Of the figures in the table, the lowest paid price is $14.99 a month (Adviserry Core) and the highest is $1,000 a month (Pally VIP, by invitation only). The highest anyone can buy today without an invitation is $199.99 a month (alfred_ Max, billed monthly); Chief of Staff lists Executive at $299 a month but marks it coming soon. Pally's main plan is free, and Chief of Staff is free during its beta.
Can an AI chief of staff replace a human one? Not by the vendors' own words. alfred_'s page says "Judgment, strategy and relationships stay with you and your team." How much each tool does on its own differs: Chief of Staff sends nothing without approval and Pally asks before sending, while Wanna in Autonomous mode answers comments under your posts and, once you turn sending on, sends first letters to people already in your Outreach by itself.
Which AI chief of staff tools can I try for free? On 17 Oct 2026: Adviserry, Fyxer and Nerve offer a free trial, alfred_ offers a 7-day trial with a card, Chief of Staff is free in its beta, and Pally has a free plan.
Is Wanna an AI chief of staff? No. Wanna is an AI CEO: it proposes and drafts company work such as letters, posts and applications. In Approve everything mode each waits for your OK; in Autonomous mode it answers comments under your posts and, once you turn sending on, sends first letters to people already in your Outreach by itself. It reads your inbox (who wrote, the subject and a short preview, never the whole letter) and adds events to your calendar only if you add each of those permissions yourself. It is early: on 17 Oct 2026 it had 3 companies of people and none paying.
