Wanna / Wedding leads are spam

Are the wedding leads I pay for spam? What to check and who can help

Some are, according to wedding pros who wrote reviews between 2024 and 2026, and we found no count beyond single reviews. Do not guess. Log every paid lead for 30 days and mark which ones answer. Wanna OS does not screen leads. It drafts your offer and posts from your website, for your OK.

What wedding pros wrote

In October 2026 we read 16 quotes from wedding professionals, 15 on review pages of two big wedding directories and one on a planner's blog. Most writers are vendors such as venues, a band and a favors business. Only one of the quotes below comes from a writer who says they run a wedding planning company. Six of the 16 are about leads that are fake or never answer. Five of those six are quoted here, each as written:

  • A wedding planning company owner, 13 Oct 2026: "I have received numerous leads that appear to be spam"
  • A wedding vendor, 18 Sep 2026: "All the inquiries are AI and scams and its been a year. Not 1 real lead."
  • A venue, 24 Jun 2024: "of the 157 leads I got in the year, only 2 ever answered after reaching out the first time and not even one ever booked."
  • A vendor, 15 Dec 2024: "90% of everyone who inquires is price shopping and doesn't answer once you respond or is a fake lead."
  • A wedding band, 9 Nov 2024: "about 95% of all leads we have received through [the directory] are a scam or spam."

These are single reviews. Nobody has checked their numbers, we did not, and the three from 2024 are old. Sixteen quotes cannot tell you how common this is, or whether it is true for your trade or your city. They tell you that the complaint exists.

How to check your own leads

Make a sheet with one row per lead.

  1. Write down each lead: the date, where it came from and what it cost you, if you pay per lead or per month.
  2. Send the same first reply to every lead and note whether they answered.
  3. Mark the outcome: answered, call held, booked, or silent.
  4. After 30 days, divide what you paid by the weddings you booked. If you booked none, the result is "paid, no bookings", and that is also an answer.

Do this before you renew. If most rows stay silent, you have your own numbers to take to the directory or to cancel with.

Who does it for me

Someone has to keep the sheet and send the first reply, and the options are few:

  1. You. You keep the sheet and send the first reply. It costs no money, and you see everything.
  2. One named person. An assistant or family member who sends the same first reply and fills in the sheet. Give them the reply written out, so they do not guess.
  3. A tool or a service that screens leads. Some exist. We have not tested any, so we cannot tell you how well they separate real couples from fake ones.

Wanna is not in that list. It does not read or screen your leads.

Where Wanna fits

The other half of the problem is that when all your inquiries come from one paid place, you cannot see what is real. You paste your website link. Wanna reads the site and shows what your team made for you: an offer card and posts, all drafts. Short reply templates are a task it can draft next, for your OK. Nothing is posted or sent without your OK. The aim is to give you more than one way for couples to find you, such as your own page and your own posts. We have no numbers showing that it brings you weddings.

Read from our pricing page on 22 Oct 2026: the Free plan costs nothing and covers the plan and the first drafts. Starter is 20 USD a month for 200 credits, about 20 tasks, with 1 social account included. Wanna is an early product, and this page does not promise you more bookings.

What Wanna does not replace

  • It does not screen, score or answer your leads. A person still sends every reply.
  • It does not connect to a wedding directory or read its inbox.
  • It does not get you out of a contract or a refund. Read your own terms for that.
  • It does not replace your own sheet of leads and outcomes.

FAQ

Are wedding directory leads spam? Some wedding pros write that many are fake or never answer, but those are single reviews and nobody has measured the share. Log your own leads for 30 days and mark who answers.

How do I tell a fake wedding lead from a real one? We do not have a test that works every time. Send every lead the same first reply and note who answers, who asks for a call and who books. Silence across many leads is the signal.

Is a paid wedding directory worth it for a small planner? It depends on your own numbers: what you paid divided by weddings booked. We have not measured it for your market, so use your sheet.

Can AI filter fake wedding leads for me? Wanna does not. It drafts your offer card, posts and reply templates from your website for your OK, and you send them.
